POSITION TITLE:                             Regional Sales/BD Manager, WA/NT/SA
                                                           
REPORTING TO:                              Regional Manager Australasia for ERDAS
 
GEOGRAPHICAL TERRITORY:             WA, NT and South Australia, Australia
 
LOCATION:                                     Perth
 
BUSINESS UNIT:                               ERDAS
 
 
ROLE & PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:           
                       
The Sales Manager will be part of the ERDAS business development & sales team in the Australasia region. He/She will be responsible for all software & related hardware/solutions and services sales within the WA/NT/south Australia region with a direct sales responsibility. The position will also support other BD/Sales managers in Australasia to increase sales by promoting new markets and customer segments. The purpose of the position is to greatly increase profitable sales and foster relationships with governmental departments and private service providers and end-users of GIS technologies. It is the intention to be the premier provider of Remote Sensing/Photogrammetry/Imaging GIS products and services in this territory.
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
The duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:
 
1.    Contribute to top line sales within agreed budget
2.    Relationship holder with current and prospective Customers and key agencies.
3.    Proactive pre sales efforts for ERDAS solutions along with regional technical sales team. Work with customers to identify project opportunities and create end-to-end workflow solution for customer’s needs.
4.    Implement strategic and operational goals of business
5.    Participation in all suitable events and exhibitions.
6.    Answering Tenders/RFI/RFP and creating of finished tender documentation along with technical sales team
7.    Interact with key regional customers and support their technical requirements to help expansion of their use of the software.
8.    Assist in the tracking of prospects, leads, and quotes to generate sales
9.    Collect competitive information and feed to marketing and sales.
 
10. Provide input to Product Management reflecting regional and customer specific requirements for new product feature, functionality or general requirements observed in the local marketplace.
11. Provide feedback to the Regional Manager and Division Marketing personnel regarding competitive activities within the Region.
12. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned.
 
 
 
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
 
1.    A minimum of 5 years of working experience, preferably in the field of GIS, Photogrammetry/mapping OR remote sensing
2.    A strong knowledge and track record in selling software solutions.
3.    Knowledge of ERDAS software (ER Mapper, LPS, IMAGINE, Apollo) will be a definite advantage
4.    Experience in mid to high level governmental sales in the region.
5.    Working knowledge of technical issues relating to both hardware and software
6.    Very Strong interpersonal relation building and relationship selling skills
7.    Good problem solving skills
8.    Drive and Initiative
9.    Experience in preparing proposals and conducting formal presentations
10. Domain Knowledge – Gov’t use of Imagery, Mining and Oil & gas applications, Use of GIS technology in Natural Resources and Environment management
