ERDAS Rocks San Diego: From the Sensor to the Internet

April 28, 2010

Norcross (Georgia, USA) – ERDAS announces its platinum sponsorship at the American Society of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (ASPRS) annual conference at the Town & Country Convention Center in San Diego, California. In conjunction with ASPRS, ERDAS hosted two well attended customer events: ERDAS Rocks San Diego and From the Sensor to the Internet on Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

ERDAS partnered with GeoEye for the ERDAS Rocks San Diego event. This well attended event featured a presentation on GeoEye Imagery Products in ERDAS IMAGINE by Gene Dial, Chief Scientist at GeoEye. Other presentations included ERDAS IMAGINE 2010…IMAGINE the Difference, Point Clouds from Imagery: Model Your World Like Never Before and On-Demand Spatial Analysis.

This event was the last stop on the ERDAS Rocks World Tour, which was launched in late October to support the ERDAS 2010 Software Release. The ERDAS Rocks events have provided an opportunity for users to experience the power and excitement of this significant release locally. Many of the ERDAS Rocks events have drawn large crowds, also capturing the attention of the industry media. Earlier this year, the ERDAS Rocks event in Gurgaon, India had over 475 attendees.

ERDAS partnered with Leica Geosystems for the Tuesday evening event, From the Sensor to the Internet. Hosted for a select group of invited attendees, this event included presentations and demonstrations showcasing ERDAS and Leica Geosystems’ collaborated efforts to quickly deliver captured and processed data to end-users.

“At ERDAS, all of our efforts are customer-focused, enabling us to develop and produce products that truly address and fully meet customer needs,” said Joel Campbell, President, ERDAS. “These two successful events preceding the ASPRS conference allowed us collaborate with two of our business partners, showcasing a complete solution from capturing data to delivering geospatial information.”

Earlier this week, ERDAS also announced the release of ERDAS Software 2010, Version 10.1. Software maintenance customers can upgrade by visiting www.erdas.com/support.
