ERDAS Announces Global Survey as Official Distributor in New Zealand

July 27, 2010

Norcross, GA — ERDAS Inc. announces that Global Survey is now the official ERDAS distributor for clients in New Zealand.  Beginning August 1, 2010, Global Survey will provide ERDAS sales, support and technical services to all current and potential customers in New Zealand.

Global Survey is New Zealand’s largest locally owned and operated supplier of laser and surveying technologies, and currently represents Leica Geosystems in the area. Global Survey is at the forefront of introducing innovative and leading edge solutions to construction, survey and related industries, providing the opportunity to make massive productivity gains and substantially reduce costs.

Global Survey's history with Leica Geosystems in New Zealand goes back to 1984.  By employing experienced specialists and industry professionals, Global Survey has grown to be a market leader in the sale of Leica surveying, mapping and construction technologies, and was named Leica "Dealer of the Year" in 2006.  Global Survey has offices in Auckland and Christchurch.

"Adding the ERDAS product range to our existing Leica Geosystems portfolio makes perfect sense,” said Ray Copeland, Director and General Manager, Global Survey Ltd. “Many of our ERDAS clients also use Leica Geosystems survey and mapping technology.  Adding ERDAS to our product line allows us to offer clients a ‘one stop shop’ for all their geospatial hardware and software needs.  Clients have the best of both worlds with the advantage of local sales and support through Global Survey with the backup of the ERDAS team.”

“ERDAS is extremely pleased to partner with Global Survey as the official New Zealand distributor,” said Dr. Dipak Paudyal, Australasia Regional Manager, ERDAS. “With Global Survey, our customers will enjoy local sales, support and services for ERDAS products from a knowledgeable supplier who already has a long and distinguished relationship with Leica Geosystems.  This is a great fit for ERDAS and its valued customers.”
