    For the 2010 census, the US Census Bureau used ERDAS’ server-based technologies for timely updating of their integrated national mapping and address system. In 2007, the Census Bureau began implementing ERDAS ADE to provide a real-time, interactive web editing solution based on the Oracle Spatial 10g/11g topology model. Later, the US Census Bureau enhanced the system, adding ERDAS APOLLO to manage and rapidly serve the organization’s massive amounts of imagery.

    ERDAS announces the release of ERDAS ADE 2010, an integrated suite of products for real-time editing of spatial and business data via the web, desktop or mobile device. Integrated with the Oracle technology stack, this suite of products includes ERDAS ADE Remote, ERDAS ADE Mobile and ERDAS ADE Enterprise.

Interactively Managing the US Census Bureau's Data
In 2003, the U.S. Census Bureau selected Oracle’s technology to redesign the MAF/TIGER database. ERDAS ADE was also selected, as it is the only native Oracle (MapViewer) solution that supports direct editing of Oracle’s Topology Data Model. ERDAS ADE also satisfied the Census Bureau’s customization requirement, providing a fine-grained Java API to implement new features or override existing features.
