Import and Export NITF Files
The National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) is a principal standard format for digital imagery, metadata and imagery-related products for the United States Intelligence Community, International Standards Organization (ISO), American National Standards Institute (ISO/ANSI) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (STANAG-4545). NITF with RPC metadata is widely disseminated by commercial satellite vendors, widely supported by imagery exploitation tools, and serves as a sensor-agnostic mechanism for data exchange. With IMAGINE NITF, you can import, view contents, chip, core and export NITF version 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1 imagery, annotation, metadata and map compositions. As files in the NITF format may contain multiple images, annotation and shapefiles, IMAGINE NITF allows you to import the entire file to exploit and manipulate independent components, and then export desired components or chips back to a NITF. Direct read of NITF without a physical import is also supported.

Chipping Results
All annotation, NITF metadata, and geopositioning information is maintained.
-
Export New or Updated RPC
RPC can be generated in IMAGINE for many image types and exported as NITF for a universal precisely georeferenced exchange format. RPC with improved accuracy from adjustment with control points can be output to the NITF file with full metadata preservation.
-
View All NITF Metadata Fields
Over 75 TRE are supported, and you can add new TRE support by adding easily created .xml TRE definition files.
-
Chip a Single Image or Core from Multiple Images
With the NITF Module, complete import, export, chipping, and coring capabilities are provided. Chips and cores are excellent for disseminating small areas with full metadata and geopositioning maintained.
-
Displaying NITF Imagery Accurately
IMAGINE automatically extracts full geolocation information from NITF imagery to support mensuration and processing.
-
Automatic TRE and Metadata Generation
Existing NITF metadata is carried over, new RPC coefficients are automatically populated, new TRE can be added and fields can be edited and automatically validated for format.

Select Area of Interest
The area of interest to be included in the NITF chip may be easily delineated with multiple options.
Rapidly Disseminate an Enhanced Area of Interest
NITF imagery can be manipulated, annotated, chipped and exported with full metadata retention. You can generate RPC for most imagery and export as NITF for a universal imagery and sensor model exchange mechanism.
Easily Update Annotation Without Altering the Image
When importing a NITF file into a map composition, you can update the components of the file independently of the image. When you export the file, it contains the original image with the updated annotation.
Produce Standard Certified NITF Files for a Wide Audience
With IMAGINE NITF, you produce NITF files that other users and software can read. IMAGINE NITF produces files compliant with MIL STD 2500B/STANAG-4545, and is periodically certified by The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) to the highest levels of compliance.
