ERDAS supports the use of SafeNet hardware keys with its products whenever possible. You may purchase SafeNet hardware keys from your ERDAS sales agent for $100 each (30-day warranty for key failure only. No warranty for failure caused by user damage or abuse). ERDAS has tested FLEXnet ID hardware keys manufactured by Alladin, but ERDAS does not currently sell this type of key. You may be able to acquire these from another reseller of FLEXnet hardware keys.
ERDAS only recognizes the first ERDAS-branded SafeNet hardware key present on the system. Certain software products (such as FPES) from Leica Geosystems also use ERDAS-branded keys. It is possible to get ERDAS and ERDAS-Net licenses based upon those hardware keys, but the ERDAS licenses and the Leica licenses will be tied to that hardware key, and will only work on the specific machine where the hardware key is installed. Intergraph software cannot use ERDAS-branded hardware keys.
Exceptions:
-
ERDAS APOLLO Image Manager 2009 and ERDAS APOLLO Server 2009 did not support floating licenses or hardware keys. Only a nodelocked license based upon a network address was supported. This restriction was lifted for the 9.3.2 release.
-
ERDAS TITAN 2009 servers did not support hardware keys.
-
ERDAS ADE Enterprise 2010 and beyond only support floating licenses based upon a server that is not using a hardware key.
