Self-Licensing and License File Requests

Customers of ERDAS Distributors

  • Please request license files from your ERDAS distributor. Only your distributor can issue your license files.

Online Self-licensing

  • Log in via the link in the upper right corner of the web page using your ERDAS software maintenance login.
  • In the right sidebar, go to Product Licensing and follow the five simple steps to self-generate your own permanent and temporary (including evaluation) license files. The first step will be to enter the system ID of your license server.
    • Online self-licensing requires current SWM and license administrator permissions.
    • If you do not see a Product Licensing link in the right sidebar, your individual account does not have licensing permissions.  Please contact your company’s license administrator. If you believe you should be a license administrator, send us a request to upgrade your permissions.

License Request Form - use this to request:

    • New licenses for customers with SWM who prefer not to self-license online.
    • Older-version licenses, for licenses of products two or more versions back.

    System ID Changes

License Type Changes (Pertains to ERDAS version 2010 only. All ERDAS 2011 licenses are floating, and cannot be converted to node-locked licenses.)

    License Notes

    • December 20, 2010: ERDAS Software 2011 released. New license files are required for all ERDAS 2011 software. ERDAS version 11.0 licenses are backwards-compatible to 10.0 and 9.3/7.2. All ERDAS 2011 licenses are floating.
    • ERDAS licensing does not support system IDs from virtual machines.  ERDAS licensing is based upon unique system identifiers, and virtual network adapters are not sufficiently unique.  ERDAS software may be installed onto a virtual machine, but it must use a floating license from an actual (non-virtual) license server.  Running a license server on a virtual machine is not supported.
    • All ERDAS software released from October 2008 onward (starting with versions 9.3 / 7.2 / 2009) use ERDAS-Net Licensing, while all earlier products use FLEXlm (ERDAS) Licensing).
