Note: (4/15/2008) This procedure mentions version 8.7, but the same procedure may be needed in 9.0 or 9.1 (and occasionally higher versions) if the registry is corrupted.
When removing ERDAS IMAGINE and/or LPS 8.7 in order to install version 9.0 or 9.1, errors sometimes occur that say certain fixes have not been removed and the process stops. This is caused by unfortunate inconsistencies between the Fix Manager in ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS 8.7 and the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility. It is corrected in version 9.0 and onward.
To correct this, one must manually remove entries in the Windows registry. There are several keys that need to be deleted. Which ones and how many are determined by the number of fixes that are installed. The more fixes that are installed, the more keys to remove. Here are the basic keys to be removed:
Search this location to find keys that refer to installed fixes.
This the only way to remove the residue of 8.7 fixes. It is a manual process that can be completed pretty quickly once you know what you are looking for. Once complete, proceed with installation of the newer version of ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS.
