Scripts for ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS
January 26, 2011

The assisted change detection menu is broken into three different areas: Panchromatic Imagery, Multi-spectral Imagery, and Thematically classified imagery. The panchromatic imagery menu allows the user to select two possible methods, and gives an explanation of each. The multi-spectral change detection menu explains about various techniques available for use with multi-band imagery. The Classified Imagery change menu explains about using thematically classified images to conduct change analysis.

The Assisted Change Detection menu will be available from the Interpreter > Utilities menu on the main ERDAS IMAGINE toolbar.

The degrade function in ERDAS IMAGINE does not map to a batch command structure. Therefore, this EML utility will allow you to specify one or more image files for degradation by an integer scaling factor. This EML relies on the batch functionality to complete the scheduled tasks, so the user must alter the preferences for “Batch Processing” to NOT run in record mode.

This spatial model streamlines the conversion of Landsat TM and ETM data to Tasseled Cap.

The model first converts Landsat 7 data to Radiance then to Reflectance and finally the Tasseled Cap. One must have the imagery metadata from Landsat for QCALMAX, QCALMIN, Earth-Sun Distance, and Solar Elevation. Also, one must have the LMAX and LMIN, or GAIN and BIAS, and Solar Irradiance values for each band. All of this can be found in the metadata record available with Landsat data purchases or at the USGS/LANDSAT web site.

The DN to Tasseled Cap menu will be available from the Interpreter > Spectral Enhancement menu on the main ERDAS IMAGINE toolbar, with the option of choosing LMAX/LMIN or GAIN/BIAS. To install, unzip and place the five files in your c:\Users\.imagine9X0 folder. This file location is sometimes found instead at c:\Documents and Settings\yourprofile\.imagine9X0.
