ArcGIS 9.3.1 Geodatabase connector in IMAGINE 2011

I am using seed grow to digitize on digital orthophotos and Geo-Eye staellite images. I have an ERDAS Imagine 2011 license. However, I need the Geodatabase connector in order to save it in a ArcGIS database.
1) Is the connector a seperate license?
2) How do I install it?
3) we also have ArcGIS site license, if we work from ArcGIS end, what should we do?

If you do have ArcGIS installed on the same workstation you run IMAGINE 2011, then you don't need to install anything.
If you don't have ArcGIS installed on the same workstation you run IMAGINE 2011, then you need to install ERDAS IAMGINE 2011 Geodatabase Support. The installer can be found @ http://www.erdas.com/products/ERDASIMAGINE/ERDASIMAGINE/Downloads.aspx (in the middle of the page)
There is no license on IMAGINE side for ArcGIS connector, we actually use ESRI dlls.

Actually, when I clicked on that connect button on the vector layer opening dialog, it hung up for me. Does this mean that I did not activate something? This is a computer loaded with full-blown ArcGIS - ArcInfo. I can see the geodatabase in ArcCatalog. However, I can not even see it here in ERDAS Imagine open vector layer dailog. If I click on the connect, the ERDAS stops. Then, I have to terminate it, and come back again.

I see the problem. IMAGINE 2011 will only work with ArcGIS geodatabase 10 (based on ArcGIS Engine Runtime 10). Here is a summary:
IMAGINE 2011 can only connect to ArcGIS 10 geodatabase, not ArcGIS 9.3.1 geodatabase.
IMAGINE 2010 can only connect to ArcGIS 9.3.1 geodatabase, not ArcGIS 10 geodatabase.
Here is the text from the ERDAS IMAGINE 2011 system specifications:
- ERDAS IMAGINE, ER Mapper and LPS 2011 can be safely installed on a computer that has ArcGIS® 9.3.1 or 10
- ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS 2011 can interact with both Personal File Geodatabases (file extensions of .mdb and .gdb, respectively)
- ERDAS IMAGINE and LPS 2011 can interact with ArcGIS Server 10 Geodatabase servers (ArcSDE)
- In order to read or interact with a Geodatabase, you must either:
- Install and license the appropriate version of ArcGIS 10, OR
- Install the IMAGINE Geodatabase Support (based on ArcEngine 10), which requires no license
