Customer received error regarding invalid system ID when installing his license file with 2011 ERDAS-Net. The error states that system ID in the license file is invalid and that he should request another license with a valid system ID of "fffffff". This is a known problem with 2011 ERDAS-Net licensing relating to systems with 'TEAMED" network adapter configurations. "TEAMED" configurations employ a scheme where as multiple adapters are configured to utilize one MAC address. Under normal circumstances, each network adapter in a system has a unique MAC address. The "TEAMED" configuration is sometimes used to increase bandwidth for network communication. This configuration is not compatible with the 2011 License Tools and thus the system ID utility reads a bogus (fffffff) system ID. The workaround is to use the 2010 License Tools instead.

We uninstalled the 2011 ERDAS-Net license manager and installed the 2010 ERDAS-Net license manager. The license loaded fine and the server is now serving 2011 licenses.
